A fast moving storm from the north brought snow overnight followed by clear skies
and cold temperatures. We packed the car, ate a quick breakfast and set out for
our chosen zone slightly more than an hour from the lodge. Although thin, there
was enough snow to skin directly from the car. This was a major improvement from
the days prior where we spend up to an hour wading though the bog and booting
through the birch forest.

Skinning from the car!

Much easier and enjoyable to get through the forest on skis today.

Incredible weather compared to the past few days.

Our first high point.

First descent.

We summited Viktennin on our second lap and were rewarded with amazing views.

Part way down on our second descent.

Looking back at our up track.

The new snow drifted in quite well in a few places.

Looking back up the lower portion of our second lap.

We had skied down the far side of Viktennin so we made a long climbing traverse to
reverse course. We passed through just a few hundred feet below the summit and thus
had a third long ski run back to the car. Unfortunately I did not take any photos
on this segment.

Somewhat desperate, but we were able to ski all the way to the car.
