After a glorious day yesterday the weather switched right back to low overcast and rain. We opted for a lower altitude tour with a road approach, which we hoped would still be holding snow. Turns out the rain melted quite a bit of the new snow and thus we set out on foot. I did not get any pictures, but the road was only slightly muddy and was much easier than walking through a bog. Before long we were able to switch to skis and started skinning up through the birch forest.

Somewhat more interesting terrain today.

We skirted around this sub peak.

We didn't bring boot crampons or axes so we just skinned to the saddle and did not ascend to the high point.

The snow was decent but the light was flat.

Heading up for the second lap.

I stopped taking photos as the visibility worsened, but we did a total of three laps before heading back. Although is was snowing up high, it switched over to rain lower down. Fortunately the road provided a quick exit and we were soon at the car.

Each day after skiing we would visit the sauna and then jump into the ocean. Most days we could jump off the dock right outside the sauna but on this day the tide was too low so we needed to run down to the boat platform. I didn't get good photos, but the photo below gives you the idea.
